Public Speaking Contest for Zone G5 has been cancelled.
At the present time, the Zone Executive has every
intention of holding the contest as usual next year.

Public Speaking Contest |

The public speaking contest will be
held at the Westboro Branch (480) of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) located at
389 Richmond Road. The contest is open to all students attending schools in
Ottawa and district, with the following exceptions:
-
Schools in the former City
of Kanata – please contact the RCL, Kanata Branch 638, for their contest
date;
-
Schools in the former
Township of West Carleton – please contact the RCL, West Carleton Branch
616, for their contest date;
-
Schools in the former
Township of Osgoode – please contact the RCL, Osgoode Branch 589, for their
contest date
-
Schools in the former
Township of Greely – please contact the RCL, Greely Branch 627, for their
contest date.
The Public
Speaking Contest is divided into two parts:
Part One is for grades 1 to 6 and
check-in time at Westboro Branch, 890 Richmond Road is at 8:00 a.m. with the
contest starting at 9:00 a.m.
Part Two is for grades 7 to 12 and
check- in time is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. with the contest starting at 1:00
p.m.
The topic for
speeches is left to each student’s discretion and speeches can be submitted in
either French or English. Because of the short time frame, we suggest
pre-registration as soon as possible. The number of entries is restricted as
follows:

grades 1 to 6 – 30
entries and
·
grades 9 to 12 – 30
entries.
Registration
forms will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis and should be sent in
PDF format by e-mail or by fax as indicated below:
